Adesua Etomi: One of Nollywood’s Finest

Tolulope Adesua Etomi well known as ” Adesua Etomi” (born 22 February) in Owerri, Imo state, Nigeria. Adesua is a Nigerian actress and producer, Adesua Etomi is also one of the most beloved stars in the Nollywood industry. She broke onto the scene of Nollywood when she appeared in her first featured film “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” in 2014. The movie became a blockbuster as well as made her very famous. The beautiful, smart, Intelligent and gorgeous actress shortly won the hearts of many Nigerians. Adesua has in no time won so many awards and also been nominated for so many awards due to her effective way of handling any role given to her in any movie. This Nollywood pearl is a multi-talented person. In her leisure times, Adesua enjoys singing, dancing, playing the guitar and swimming.

Early Life and Education

Tolulope Adesuwa Etomi was born in Owerri, Imo State on 22 February. Several major editorials on Etomi state her birth year as 1988. However, in an interview published in January 2016, Etomi told Pulse Nigeria that she was 29 years old. Her father is a soldier of Esan descent from Edo state, and her mother is a Civil Engineer of Yoruba descent. She is the youngest of three siblings. Etomi attended Corona School in Victoria Island, Lagos, where she joined the drama club at the age of seven. Thereafter, she attended Queen’s College, Lagos before moving to the United Kingdom at the age of 13 years old, and later obtained a diploma in “physical theatre, musical theatre and performing arts” from City College Coventry in 2004. After completing these courses in 2006 with triple distinctions, she studied drama and performance at the University of Wolverhampton, graduating with first class honours.

Career

Adesua Etomi’s but has been acting since she was 7 as she joined the drama club in her primary school, but she ventured into her acting career in the theatre while studying in the UK. She featured in different plays such as “The Crucible”, “Miss Saigon”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Fractal”, “The Grimm Tales” and “Not My Cup Of Tea”. After graduating from the university, Adesua ventured away from acting for three years to experience the world. She returned back to acting in 2012, featuring at the Saga Tiata-Edinburg Fringe Festival in a drama titled “The Miller’s Tale”. After moving to Nigeria, Adesua featured in different plays such as “Anatomy Of A Woman”, “Shattered”, “Crystal Slippers”, “London Life Lagos Living”, “Saro”, “Secret Life Of Baba Segi’s Wives”, “Band-Aid”, and “Make We”. but has been acting since she was 7 as she joined the drama club in her primary school. Etomi’s film credits include The Arbitration, The Wedding Party, and Falling Her performance in Falling earned her the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award for Best Actress In A Drama. Other notable films she has appeared in include A Soilder’s Story (2015), Out of Luck (2015), and Couple of Days (2016). Etomi played Shiela in the fourth and fifth seasons of Shuga, a television soap opera about HIV/AIDS prevention. Etomi began starring as Amaka Obiora, an undercover police officer, in Yemisi Wada’s crime series LasGidi Cops, which debuted in June 2016 on television.

Personal Life

She got engaged to Banky W in February 2017. They both had their traditional marriage on 19 November, Court Wedding on 20 November and on 25 November (2017) they had the White Wedding in Cape Town, South Africa.
