Mercy Johnson Okojie was born on August 28th, 1984 in Lagos state, to a formal naval officer father, M. Daniel Johnson and mother, Elizabeth Johnson. She is the fourth of seven children and hails from Okene, Kogi State, Nigeria. Mercy Johnson Okojie began her primary education in Calabar. Due to the nature of her father’s job as a naval officer, there is the tendency to move around a lot. Her father was transferred to Lagos, where she continued her primary education at the Nigerian Navy Primary School. After her primary education, she moved on to Rivers State Secondary School for her secondary education and the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
Mercy Jonhson Okojie rose to fame after her role in ‘The Maid’, a 2004 Nollywood release. The stardom came after her secondary education. Her amazing performance in the film, open doors for her in the film industry. She bagged roles in films such as ‘Into Temptation’, ‘Women in Power’,’Dumebi the Dirty Girl’ and more. Mercy Johnson’s continuous thrilling performances bagged her numerous awards and nominations. In December 2011, Google listed her as Nigeria’s most searched celebrity, a position she also held in 2012. In 2011, Mercy Johnson Okojie married her heartthrob, Prince Odianosen Okojie, a business magnate.
